Jessica Alba Seeking More ‘Family Friendly’ Roles

Over the last few years, Jessica Alba hasn’t shied away from racy roles in R-rated films – we’ve seen her get down and dirty as Dane Cook’s love interest in “Good Luck Chuck,” flash some flesh as stripper Nancy Callahan in “Sin City,” and more recently, play a high-class hooker in the dark thriller “The Killer Inside Me.”

But since giving birth to daughter Honor Marie just over two years ago, it seems Alba is starting to reconsider her racy roles.

“I think there is a nice balance (between “family friendly” and more adult films) but it would be fun to do more films that my daughter can see,” the 29-year-old said.

And although Alba’s status as a sex symbol, which earns her high placement on “Most Desirable” or “Hot Lists” in almost every men’s magazine, often generates more media attention than her acting – she also wants the opportunity to portray more than just a pretty face.

“I like finding a character who finds herself, finds strengths and actually uses her damn stilettos (for a purpose) instead of just killing her feet,” she continued.

And when she’s not on camera, Alba does just that – dedicating time to an array of charities including Habitat for Humanity, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Project HOME, RADD, Revlon Run/Walk for Women, SOS Children Villages, Soles4Souls, and Step up.

But what’s one change she would like all Americans to make?

“Just to have a consciousness that everything that you do does affect someone else or the planet, and that comes with love,” she said.

Speaking of making a difference, the starlet is also urging Americans to continue doing all they can to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina – as even five years after the disaster struck, Alba doesn’t believe we’ve done anywhere near enough in terms of restoration.

“I think once we rebuild everything that’s been torn down, then we’ve done enough. So until that happens, we haven’t.”
